Exciting Changes Ahead at Paddle River Golf & Country Club
At Paddle River Golf & Country Club, we are committed to continually improving the experience we provide to our members, guests, volunteers, staff, sponsors, and community partners.

As part of that commitment, we are pleased to announce that we will soon be implementing the TeeOn Golf Management System across our club operations.

This investment represents an important step forward in modernizing how we serve our golfers while strengthening the operational systems that support our club every day.

What This Means for Our Members and Guests Once fully implemented,
TeeOn will provide convenient online access to many of the services our golfers use most, including:

• Online tee time reservations
• Online golf cart bookings
• Membership purchases and renewals
• Online purchases of annual golf products and services
• Improved league registration and management
• Handicap score tracking and updates
• Better communication regarding events, promotions, and club activities

Whether you're booking a quick nine holes, signing up for league play, or renewing your membership,
TeeOn will make the process faster, easier, and more convenient.

Improving the Customer Experience
Our goal is to create a seamless experience from the moment a golfer interacts with PRGCC.

The new system will help eliminate common frustrations such as overbooked tee times, unavailable carts, and communication gaps. Staff will have real-time access to accurate information, allowing them to serve customers more efficiently in both the Pro Shop and River & Nine Restaurant and Lounge.

Members will also gain greater visibility into their own club activity, making it easier to track memberships, bookings, league participation, and handicap information.

Supporting Growth and Tourism
As more golfers rely on online booking systems when choosing where to play, implementing TeeOn will help make PRGCC more visible and accessible to visitors from across Alberta and beyond.

This enhanced online presence will help attract new golfers, increase tourism-related visits, and introduce more people to everything our course and community have to offer.

Strengthening Operations and Governance
While golfers will experience the most visible improvements, TeeOn will also provide significant benefits behind the scenes.

The system integrates key operational and accounting functions, helping us maintain accurate, up-to-date information while improving financial controls and reporting capabilities.

These improvements support stronger governance, better decision-making, and more effective stewardship of club resources.

Investing in Our Staff and Volunteers
Implementing TeeOn will also create clearer processes and training pathways for our staff and volunteers.

By standardizing procedures and providing better access to information, our team will be better equipped to serve members consistently and professionally while continuing to build their skills and confidence.

Perhaps most importantly, improved systems and automation allow our staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors to spend less time managing administrative tasks and more time focusing on the things that matter most:

• Supporting the long-term success of Paddle River Golf & Country Club

So our small course has been known to have cart availability troubles. Let's be honest, it's a big problem for you and your game....but it's a much bigger issue for us if we can't give you what you deserve!

Our loyal members, our community patrons, our visitors, and all our other supporters have been looking after us quite a bit over the years and we sure appreciate it. But there comes a time when we have to get it together, bite the bullet, and make some big changes in order to give back.

Our Board of Directors has determined that lack of cart availability, associated fuel and maintenance costs, and just plainly the presentation we have allowed to be substandard represents the most significant  barrier to the course's prosperous future, and our ability to provide an exceptional customer experience.  We collectively agree that a total upgrade of golf carts should be one of our key strategic initiatives, and therefore we have set out to replace our existing fleet.

We have made a deal with Lakeside Carts in Innisfail, Alberta for the purchase of twenty six E-Z-Go RXV Elite Lithium battery powered golf carts.  While they are not new, they are much much newer than what we have in our cart stable currently.  This is quite the investment, but YOU are worth it!  The course is worth it, and our community deserves to have it!

To fund this replacement, we have entered into a lease agreement for the next five years in an effort to keep operating costs low while getting a premium equipment upgrade.  We get reliability, comfort safety, much less noise, and no smelly fumes.  Lithium battery technology has advanced greatly over the last few years making  charging super fast, and very inexpensive (considerably less cost to operate than gasoline powered carts).

We should be finished signing documents in a day or two and expect to have the carts start arriving within the next few days after that.

The old carts have already found a home thanks to an adventurous individual.


We look forward to this improvement and many others to come in the near future.  We have to give back.  We will make our gem of a course at the entrance to our wonderful town shine brightly in every way we can. And we look forward to your continued patronage.  Thank you!

At Paddle River Golf & Country Club, our Board of Directors continually reviews operations to ensure we can provide an enjoyable, affordable, and sustainable golfing experience for our members, guests, and community.

Like many organizations, we continue to face increasing operating costs across nearly every area of the club, including utilities, insurance, equipment, fuel, maintenance, supplies, and general service costs. At the same time, the Club has been investing in a number of important upgrades and improvements intended to enhance the overall experience, safety, reliability, and long-term sustainability of our course and facilities.

Following careful review and discussion, the Board of Directors made a deliberate decision to hold all golf rates at their current levels through the 2026 season. However, beginning in mid-May 2026, GST will be charged separately rather than being included within posted pricing. Please note, this change does NOT include Member Rates. Those remain unchanged.

We recognize this adjustment does not fully offset today’s rising operating costs. However, the Board believed this was a reasonable and balanced approach—one that helps the Club responsibly manage increasing expenses while avoiding a more significant price increase that could create hardship for our customers and families.

We remain committed to delivering excellent value, ongoing improvements, and a welcoming golf experience for everyone who enjoys Paddle River Golf & Country Club.

After an exceptional winter, the course has come through in outstanding condition - and it shows.
Our groundskeeper and crew have invested significant time and care to ensure the entire course is in top shape. Greens are rolling true, aprons and fairways are clean and healthy, tee boxes are dialed in, and all hazards are fully playable and tidy. Every detail has been prepared with your experience in mind.

Our fleet of carts and rental equipment has also been fully serviced, polished, and ready to go - just waiting for you to hit the course.

And it doesn’t stop there.

Our newly named clubhouse experience is now open for full service. Whether you’re finishing a round or just stopping in, you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere, great food, and a curated selection of beverages.

Come spend a couple of hours enjoying our 9-hole executive course It’s easily walkable (or rent a cart), it’s totally approachable, and very welcoming to all ages and skill levels.

The days are getting warmer, and the sun is shining a little longer each day. The snow is finally melting away, revealing the lush greenery beginning to wake beneath.

Opening day preparations are well underway.

• Our greens have already begun receiving the spring care they need to become perfectly playable for the season.
• Our sand traps are stocked with fresh material and ready for a full refresh.
• Course equipment maintenance is in progress to ensure top-quality conditions across tee boxes, fairways, aprons, and greens.
• We’ve also begun the hiring process to ensure we have a great team ready to serve you and deliver an exceptional experience.

We haven’t forgotten the Clubhouse and Pro Shop.

Significant improvements are already taking shape—and you’ll notice the difference right away. We hope you love what you see.

• We started by replacing the aged flooring to set the tone. What a difference.
• In the kitchen, we made a major investment—replacing the stove, ovens, cooktop, and deep fryer—to ensure consistently great food, from breakfast service to high-end tournament buffets. You’re going to love it.
• Interior painting is next on the list and will begin shortly, following completion of several priority items, including hiring our 2026 server team. If you haven’t applied yet, there’s still a short window—competition is already strong, so bring your best.
• We’ve also upgraded all bathroom fixtures with new toilets—small details that improve the overall experience.
• Additional enhancements are planned, including more comfortable indoor seating, coordinated with our new flooring, paint, and window treatments. The space is coming together to be more inviting, comfortable, and enjoyable than ever.
• And of course, the rebuilt outdoor deck—what a view. Come out, play a round, enjoy a great meal, and take it all in.

We’re incredibly fortunate to have outstanding sponsors and volunteers who help make everything possible—and we want to recognize and celebrate them.

• We are developing enhanced sponsor placement and visibility initiatives to ensure our partners receive strong, meaningful exposure. You’ll start to see these improvements roll out early this season.
• Course signage is being refreshed throughout.
• Last year, sponsor support helped us upgrade carts and equipment—thank you.
• We’ve also formalized a sponsorship structure that clearly demonstrates the value of each contribution and how it supports the club.
• We’re expanding partnerships across our community—with local businesses, clubs, organizations, and all levels of government.
• Our outreach is growing to attract more players and members—from youth to seniors—while supporting amateur golf, strengthening community engagement, and promoting tourism in our region.

How many of you know that our Provincial Government makes highly valuable contributions to organizations all across the province in an effort to build community?

Our small non-profit organization became the conduit for our community to receive outstanding support.  The Alberta Community Facilities Enhancement Program provided funding that allowed us to execute our plan to improve our clubhouse, our golf carts, and expand access to individuals who started encountering challenges due to our aging infrastructure. 

That's just stage one.  We certainly intend to carry enhancements much further in order to improve your overall experience and to become the renewed beacon that sits at the south entrance to our town.

It's pretty incredible to think that our government takes steps to engage to this degree with community.  We are proud to be part of it.  Come in, check out what we have accomplished, and help us celebrate this wonderful program.
